Waggy Tail Books & the Real Waggy Tail

Waggy Tail was born on a farm in Missouri and traveled over 1,000 miles to find her forever family. She is a very adventurous puppy who is interested in exploring new places and chewing on new objects. Waggy Tail is usually a bit cautious at first when being presented with something new. She will carefully assess the situation for a few minutes, usually by sniffing everything.  Once she is comfortable, she will jump right in and create some funny situations!

About the Author of Waggy Tail Books

As a young child, Ed Kitsos struggled as a beginner reader. Difficulties reading continued throughout his young life causing Ed to avoid books whenever possible. When called upon in class to read a passage out loud, he would simply reply, “No thank you.” It took Ed many years to catch up to his peers and he did not start to read for pleasure until adulthood.

The struggle with reading comprehension is something that many children experience. This series of rhyming children’s books is to help beginner readers engage with Waggy Tails and her adventures, as they master the art of reading. Developing strong reading skills at a young age increases the likelihood of becoming a lifelong reader, as well as gaining the academic benefits that come with reading.

Children who are passionate about reading can experience the many benefits which include an expanded vocabulary, better writing skills, stronger analytical thinking skills, and memory improvement. Reading at a young age gives children a head start towards a successful future.

“Waggy Tail’s adventures are scripted to be engaging to children, as well as contain relatable content.  The life events that Waggy Tail experiences are similar to events that children may encounter. These books can help children realize that they are not alone. They can also be used as a tool to help open communication about new situations.”
